We purchased this screen in December 2010. We have used it a number of times - all indoors. The screen itself has some of the grey dots on the white section as you see mentioned in other posts. But they really do not affect the viewing of movies. My kids loved this screen. We hosted many movie nights and played video games on this large screen. But here we are 2 1/2 years after purchase and the screen fell apart! There was no warning or indication of any issues. We had the screen up/open when we heard a tearing sound and the adhesive that attaches the white screen to the black material on the retractable roller comes apart and the whole thing falls apart. We tried to stop the process to save the screen, but no luck! The roller unwound and there is no way to reattach the white screen without wrinkles to the black piece or to fix the roller tension. I emailed the company and was very nicely told, the screen cannot be repaired, but they offered to sell me another one... REALLY??? I still have my grandfather's small projector screen from 40 years ago and it works great. But to have this product break 6 months after the warranty runs out is a sign of a bad product! We are very disappointed! There are plenty of competitors out there who sell their product for cheaper... And now I'm searching through their offerings to see if I can find a replacement!

Diy 130” 16:9 for ust
I love this screen. I also bought a cheap and sturdy backdrop background and some metal clamps, so now have a foldable screen that I can use anywhere indoors. The quality of this screen is very good and movies do look better than on my white wall. I'm attaching some pictures of the screen fully extended, its "only" 125 inches because the sides are folded so I could hold the screen in place with the metal clamps. I'm very happy with my purchases.
I was scared it would have creases because of some reviews, and it did come out of the packaging that way. But once I stretched it out on the frame I made, it was flawless. It does look gray, but I thought it might be a little darker; either way, it's amazing. Movie nights are insane.
Item was well packed, delivered on time and perfect for my wall. This screen is permanent and I didn't want a frame. I wanted it flat against the wall. I used a very thin vinyl strip to attach it to the wall (top & sides). I wanted my screen to be as big as possible, and it is! It's almost as big as my wall. I have a 9' ceiling and my wall and ceiling is painted a flat black. I have a Sharp Vision XV-Z20000 in a 20x20 room that has no windows. The picture was great even with some lamps on!
Great screen, worked perfectly for my needs. I no longer have the color bleeding i was getting from my spandex screen. Acousticly transparent and a superb image, paired with a Hisence C2. Highly recommend this screen for diy.
we’ll packaged and protected, could have come with install instructions, but that is easy enough to find online. great quality product, easy to work with and install, was actually quite easy to avoid wrinkles, which was my biggest fear. material is slightly stretchy, but not overly, and is quite thick. i was also afraid that the back braces would show through, but they don’t due to the black backing and nice taught fabric.i set up a 8’ wide 16/9 screen in a 10’x12’ room with 5.1 sound. picture quality of the screen is excellent and well worth the $. i was hoping for a bit less ambient light reflection in the room, but it is reduced from the temporary white wall.image is much less washed out during the day, but still not great without blackout curtains reducing 90+% of the outside light.
I previously purchased the vine white from elite screens and loved it so much that I also purchased the cine grey. I custom made a 90” projector screen with the material and it looks amazing with my ultra short throw projector.
This is excellent quality for the price and considering its a diy material, the image quality is more than you could ask for. Depending on the projector lumens, this can get very bright as its a 1.3 gain meaning it can make the projector light reflection more brighter. All in all this thing turned out very well.
I’m really happy with this CineGray screen material. It has a black backing so there’s no light penetration. It’s made from a high quality, durable gray vinyl. The colors and the contrast really pop on this as opposed to some of the others that I’ve tried.I built my own 120” inch frame and didn’t do a perfect job, but it turned out just fine and really enhances the television experience. I would highly recommend this screen over the cheaper ones.I’m using it with the Reeder 4K projector that I also purchased here on Amazon.
Package arrived without any damage so that’s always a plus. Stretching the material around the frame was very simple. I didn’t apply duct tape to the back of the screen until after I got it stretched into place. Then I applied the duct tape and ran a lot more staples through it. I felt if the duct tape was applied before stretching it that the material wouldn’t stretch very well or maybe not at all. I don’t have a super large space, but what I do have I love it.
Very pleased with the picture quality. I purchased the Cinegray custom cut. I built a wooden frame 115" diagonal. Used heavy duty stapler to affix the screen material. Used 4" inch felt border on the edges.Great colors and contrast. Minimal washout when the room lights were on which was critical for me as this is a living room set up with lots of ambient light. Would highly recommend and buy again.
Brought CINEGREY, for my Epson 2040. I built a 110" wood frame screen and stapled the material it to the back. I couldn't be more pleased. What I can say is that it does look washed out when all the lights are on and I have the blinds opened during the day.The good thing for me is I never have the blinds open, only did that to test the ambient light rejection feature, and my room has a modest amount of light control. Bottom line i couldn't be happier.
First off this screen is awesome, comes well packaged and is even marked for which side is the back. I got the A4K at 163” so there was plenty of material to over-lap to the back of my frame. Note: That you have to have an acoustically transparent black backing behind this so that the light doesn’t go through the screen and create a double image on the wall. Silver ticket offers one from their website for around $80. I have my Sonos soundbar mounted behind my screen and I can vouch for the acoustic transparency, no noticeable loss of sound and the screen does not move with the sound pressure waves if you’re concerned about that. Visually it’s stunning, I’m so happy with it, my projector has an issue with creating a lot of laser speckle and this material is supposed to help reduce it and it certainly does, I can’t even notice it anymore.
Excellent product easy to build build quality 100% better than other brand
Took a couple of hours but not too challenging. Looks great and sounds amazing. I can’t tell if there is any loss of sound quality because this works that well. Most people don’t realize they can’t see the speakers until I tell them.
